Mindful feet
When he had his loft hatch changed, Mark quickly became conscious of the large void that threatened his every step. Rather than plummet to the landing below, he made himself stop and say “mindful feet” before each step. Not only does it keep him safe in the loft, he’s also finding it useful in other parts of his life.
Waterproofs and wellies
The Waterproofs and Wellies campaign has a singular ambition: to provide waterproof jackets, trousers and wellie boots to each of the c.20,000 state primary schools in the United Kingdom. Mark spoke to their founder, Gina Bradbury Fox, about their ambitious target and their story so far.
Talking Nature Therapy with the Eco Monkey
In Zimbabwe’s Hwange National Park, you’ll find the Nyamandhlovu platform. Here, you can sit for hours and watch all Southern Africa’s wildlife visit the watering hole. Alongside elephants, giraffes and impala, you might find the lesser spotted Eco Monkey, luxuriating in the nature that gather there, year-round. Mark caught up with the Eco Monkey (aka Holly Barber), to talk travel, wellbeing and nature therapy.
We talk Tai Chi with Debbie Fox
The gentle tranquillity of Debbie Fox's Tai Chi, accompanied by rustling leaves and chirpy birds was, according to Mark Davies, at once other-worldly and perfectly placed. As he skirted the edges, quietly photographing the group, he found Matt Dumbleton sat on a tree stump, tear-streaked cheeks bulging with the smile of a man whose vision was manifesting before his eyes.
The Will van Zyl interview
In February 2022, just as storm Eunice forced us to hunker down, Mark enjoyed a warm and friendly chat with Will van Zyl. About sitting in baths filled with ice! Will, a hugely experienced Wim Hof teacher, described how he discovered the Ice Man and why the breath work and cold exposure has had such a profound effect on his life.
